David Hyde Pearce bags 10th successive Emmy nomination

CALIFORNIA: Six Feet Under may be leading the Emmy nominations tally but its stars will have difficulty matching David Hyde Pearce.

The star of Frasier has received his tenth successive Emmy nomination. He has won the Emmy thrice. The show, which airs in India on Star World every Monday at 9:30 pm, received five nominations in total.

The shows creators/executive producers David Angell, Peter Casey and David Lee have between them received 27 Emmy Awards for the show over the years.

In a related development, Internet bookmaker has picked HBO's drama Six Feet Under as favourite against The Sopranos and The West Wing to win the most awards at the 55th Primetime Emmys on 21 September.

Sex And The City is tipped to win the best comedy series. Speaking on the news chief bet manager Michael Maerz said: "The Emmys are great for betting action. The results are shown live on television; and you know instantly if you have won along with your favourite TV actor or show. It is the ultimate reality show. Entertainment betting is something Intertops has always offered our customers and they constantly prove to be a big success."

Alias' Jennifer Garner is the favourite in the 'Best Actress in a Drama Series' category along with Frances Conroy who plays the matriarch figure in Six Feet Under .
