MagnaQuest, Eastern Electronics to provide joint pay TV solutions

HYDERABAD: Conditional Access Systems (CAS) company, Eastern Electronics from Taiwan and the Hyderabad-based customer management and billing solutions provider MagnaQuest Solutions have announced a strategic partnership towards providing joint solutions to pay TV solutions in India and the Asia Pacific region. The two parties are already working together on a project at Manthan Broadband Services, a leading MSO in Kolkata, India. .

The companies have completed integration of the EEC conditional access system with MagnaQuest's MQSubscribe customer care and billing solution. Both companies perceive that the India and Asia Pacific market requires high-value, high-security solutions for the pay TV markets, and the alliance would go a long way in providing such a option to the service providers. When the CAS implementation process unfolds towards a gradual rollout, several prospective service providers may wish to avail of solutions and services from this alliance states an official release..

Eastern Electronics president Jerry Hor said, "Eastern is a highly secure CAS system, already operational in more than 12 countries, with more than 2.5 million analog CAS coverage. We are glad that we are entering an alliance with a leading India-based global subscriber management systems provider who knows the Indian service provider requirements well and has a very successful track record not just in India, but in Asia as well" .

MagnaQuests VP (sales and marketing) A. N. Vasan said, "We are extremely pleased with the completion of the technical integration between our two systems. We now look forward to further expand out installation base with a well-known, secure and cost-effective CA solution from Eastern.".

Both companies are partnering to provide a integrated pay TV solution to Manthan Broadband Services, a leading MSO in Kolkata formed by nine cable operators joining hands to manage the cable TV business in and around Kolkata the release states.
