A press release states that over 20 senior police officers and
70 staff members were present on the occasion. Some of these dignitaries
include T K Chowdhary, additional director general of police; training,
PK B Chakrovarty; and additional director general of police, D N
Jadhav, emphasized the need of using information technology (IT)
in day to day working of the department.
The officials spoke about the vital role that IT plays in modernizing
the police force. Speaking on the occasion DIG (law & order)
PK Jain emphasized the need of computer training for the department.
Arun Khetan spoke about the positive initiative taken by Maharashtra
Police in adopting technology for day-to-day operations at all levels.
The release adds that the police department has selected ZILS to
provide training in MS-CIT (Maharashtra State Certificate in IT)
course through its network of Zed C As, Network Access Centres,
or any other ZILS Authorized Training Centres across the state of
Maharashtra. ZILS is imparting the MS-CIT training through 78 centres
located all across Maharashtra.
MS-CIT course, comprises of the modules in Computer Fundamentals,
MS Office, Windows, Internet & Fundamentals in Multimedia. The
course is of 132 hours
duration, extended over three months. At the end of the training
there would be joint certification from MSBTE, MKCL & ZILS.

MS-CIT (Maharashtra State Certificate in IT) course under department
