10 kids shortlisted in Radio City's junior RJ hunt in Delhi

MUMBAI: Radio City 91 FM has shortlisted ten Delhi children, including a visually impaired girl, Ambika Khattar, in the first phase of its Junior RJ Hunt . The selected kids stand a chance to co-host a new radio programme along with the Radio City regular RJs

Besides Ambika, the nine other finalists include Divya Mirchandani from Shivalik, Shefali Bhatnagar from Faridabad, Arushi Bathla from Paschim Vihar, Anmil Vijay from Vivek Vihar, Dhruv Kakkar from Varinder Nagar, Rajat Verma from Mayur Vihar, Siddhant Arya from Civil Lines - North, Sagar Karmakar from Alakananda  Kalkaji and Anantdeep Singh from Mayur Vihar.

Says Radio City COO Sumantra Dutta, "There is a lot of potential amongst the kids and we are happy to provide a platform to children to demonstrate their talent. Radio being a community medium is ideal - by involving the children we involve the entire family and thereby build a stronger bond with our listeners."

The selected children will get an opportunity to co-host a show on Radio City with RJs Sameep and Krittika between December 22 and 26, which will be judged by known theatre personality Amir Raza Hussain. Listeners of Radio City will also get a chance to vote for the best Junior RJ. The final selection will be based on the decision of the judges and listener votes, says a channel release.

One boy and one girl will finally be chosen as Radio City's junior RJs, an initiative, which the station claims will pave the way for new programmes for children on Radio City.
