As part of its cosmetic makeover, actress Gautami will replace Shweta Salve as the lead character, Suniti Verma. Vishal Singh will replace Rakesh Thareja who plays Tarun Singhania in the serial. These two new actors will change the personality of the serial, according to a press release. The rest of the star cast will remain the same.

Lipstick which released last year in the late night slot on Zee, was the first serial to venture into untrodden territories, exploring sexual politics in 'high society life'.
