Khurana, former chief minister of Delhi seeking re-election to
the post in the coming state elections later this year if his party
wins here, told reporters that it has been agreed more or less in
principle that CAS would not be implemented in Delhi from 1 September.
Instead it would be rolled out after the state elections.
When information and broadcasting minister Ravi Shankar Prasad
was confronted with the Khurana statement, he did not want to comment
on the issue saying, "CAS was discussed at today's meeting
(with PM, DPM and others) and that's all I am going to say."
Asked specifically about Khurana's claims on deferment, Prasad
said, "Nothing has been decided as of yet."
