Night Visions for the horror buff from HBO

MUMBAI: The war among English movie channels to gain share shows no signs of letting up. HBO's latest programming strategy involves a new turn into horror.

It has announced the special presentation of a new television-series Night Visions which premieres 29 September at 8:00 pm. Like the eerie The Twilight Zone, this anthology series promises horror, psychological drama, supernatural adventure and the paranormal, never letting up until the final bizarre plot twist.

Hosted by musical front-man/spoken word artist/author Henry Rollins (Johnny Mnemonic), Night Visions challenges notable directors and guest stars to push the limits of their imaginations and yours. This hour-long, 13 episodic drama features two storylines per episode, with different stars in each segment. Every week, a new character will be subjected to the unknown tortures of their own mind. Each story line, like a mini-movie, exists as a stand-alone, thought-provoking vignette and lingers on in the memory, long after the final credits roll.

The X-Files alumni Billy Brown and Dan Angel executive produce this unique series, boasting stellar casts and directors that change with every gripping episode. From NV Productions, Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television, the series airs every Sunday at 8:00 pm.

The series leads off with the cast of Aidan Quinn and Kelly Rutherford in the pilot - The Bokor/Passenger List. . The star power continues in subsequent episodes with a slate of A-list actors, including Bridget Fonda, Lou Diamond Phillips, Stephen Baldwin, Jerry O'Connell, Gil Bellows amongst others.

Directors Joe Dante, Keith Gordon and Tobe Hooper join a growing list of prestigious directors and actors-turned-directors, like JoBeth Williams, Bill Pullman and Brian Dennehy who contribute their talent to the series.

In the first episode The Bokor a group of medical students experiment on a spooky cadaver but things go out of hand as their experiments leads them to get involved with a deadly voodoo curse. The Passenger LIist features a plane-crash investigator, who questions his sanity. An attraction causes a number of deja vu feelings in him, and only increases his grief further.
