MUMBAI: The International
Herald Tribune and Bloomberg News have announced an alliance to provide
detailed Bloomberg coverage of Asian companies and financial markets
for IHT's readers in Asia from mid-October.

|
|
| |
| The new four-page section,
called "Business Asia by Bloomberg," will appear in the IHT's Asia
edition weekdays, the companies announced last week. Content for the
section will be drawn from Bloomberg's global news organization, including
an editorial staff of more than 200 based in Asia, say media reports.
|
| |
| The IHT will continue to run
its package of global financial news drawn from The New York Times,
The Washington Post and the paper's network of correspondents, say
reports. |
| |
| The alliance is the latest in a series
of IHT innovations in Asia, including new print sites in Taipei, Bangkok,
Osaka and Manila and establishing English-language publishing partnerships
with The Asahi Shimbun in Japan and JoongAng Ilbo in South Korea.
The newspaper claims a 63 per cent increase in circulation in Asia
to 78,000 and a 71 per cent jump in business readership since 1997,
as measured by the Asian Business Readership Survey. |
