MUMBAI: CNN International will introduce a new sports segment during the network's Asian breakfast show News Biz Today from 2 September.

Sponsored by Volvo as part of its campaign to celebrate its 75th anniversary, the sports segment will air three times during CNN's three-and-a-half hour morning programme.

An official release informs that joining News Biz Today's co-anchors Stan Grant and Jill Neubronner at CNN's Asian headquarters in Hong Kong will be CNN International's sports anchor, Candy Reid who will provide viewers with top stories from the world of sport including interviews, scores and analysis of international sport. The sports segment will be broadcast live from the network's new Sports Studio at CNN's headquarters in Atlanta.

Airing every morning live from 6:00 to 9:30 a.m.(Hong Kong Time), News Biz Today provides a rolling mix of continual live breaking and headline news, business stories, sports, weather and analysis every weekday.

CNN currently claims to be seen in over 162 million households worldwide. Pan Asian research (PAX), conducted by Asia Market Intelligence, shows CNN as the clear leader among international news channels in Asia and confirms that CNN International reaches more business decision makers than the other major international news channels combined, the release claims.
