Zee to unveil new soap 'Tu Kahe Agar...' tonight

(Posted on 1 April 2002 5:36 pm)

A new soap Tu Kahe Agar... is all set to air on Zee TV Monday to Thursday starting tonight at 10:30 pm.

Produced by Sonjhay and Binaiffer Kholi's Edit II Productions, the show has been directed by Imtiaz Punjabi.

Tu Kahe Agar... deals with destiny and what happens when one tries to circumvent its course, Sonjhay Kholi says.

The plot in brief: A man and woman are about to marry each other. Astrologists predict that whoever the man (Vishal) marries will die within six months from the wedding date. The girl's family therefore calls off the marriage, much to the dismay of the couple.

Meanwhile, Trishna, an office colleague and friend of Vishal, offers to marry him. The "dreaded curse" means nothing to her as she is afflicted with a terminal illness and is expected to die anyway within that time frame. So Vishal obliges and initially treats the marriage as if it means nothing. However, a bond slowly starts growing between the two of them and thus the story unfolds.

Cast members include Shraddha Nigam, Vinita Malik and Malavika Shivpuri.

Elaborating on the other work that Edit II is doing, Sonjhay Kohli confirms that the company would be making another serial for the Subhash Chandra-promoted broadcaster.

According to Kohli, Edit II is also in the final stages of talks with the Star Network for a new show and an announcement is likely to be made within the next five to seven days. The production team has been moulding the ideas for the episodes to suit Star and production is expected to commence in around 15 days, Kohli says.

Kohli adds that he has also finalised plans for a comedy to air on Sony Entertainment Television - Bapa Ban Gaye Hero - the shooting for which is expected to begin sometime in June or July.
