MUMBAI:
The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences
has announced the winners of the first International Emmy
Kids Awards.
Winning
programmes from Argentina, Japan, Norway and the UK are: 'Junior
High School Diaries': 'Harmony of Two', (Kids: Series); 'Energy
Survival', (Kids: Non-Scripted Entertainment); 'El Jardín
de Clarilú', (Kids: Pre-School); 'Newsround-My Autism
and Me', (Kids: Factual); 'The Amazing World of Gumball',
(Kids: Animation) and 'Lost Christmas', (Kids: TV-Movie/Mini-Series).
Academy
president, CEO Bruce L. Paisner said, "With this new
event solely dedicated to kids programming, the International
Academy is proud to be the premiere global platform for excellence
in children's television. We congratulate tonight's winners
for their outstanding achievements."
The
Emmy statues were presented on stage by a cast of presenters
including: British actor and comedian Eddie Izzard; Canadian
actress Vanessa Morgan; Transformer Rescue Bot, Heatwave;
Swedish & Danish kids television hosts Ylva Hallen &
Jakob Stegelmann; The New York City Children's Chorus; FDNY
firefighter Daniel Glover and Australian Wiggles, Sam Moran.
Over
300 international industry executives attended the inaugural
event, held at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers, in New York
City.
