MUMBAI:
Multi Media Sports Group (MMS) has been awarded exclusive
audio visual broadcast rights for English Premier League matches
per season in Spain and Romania from 2013-16.
The
rights for the two territories were acquired in separate auction
processes.
Premier
League Chief Executive Richard Scudamore said, "We are
extremely pleased that MMS has chosen to invest in our broadcast
rights in both Spain and Romania for seasons 2013/14 - 2015/16.
"We
look forward to working with them and are confident they will
distribute the best action from the Barclays Premier League
in a comprehensive and innovative manner to our fans in both
countries."
Multi
Media Sports CEO Ylan Singer said, "We are delighted
to be working with the Premier League again and look forward
to building value and reach for these fantastic rights in
Spain and Romania."
Meanwhile,
UK-based independent sports rights distributor AMI has been
awarded the exclusive broadcast and new media rights for the
Barclays Premier League for the territories of Czech Republic
and Slovakia.
AMI
has been involved with the Premier League since its inception
in 1992 and the recent acquisition adds to its pre-eminent
position distributing premium sports rights across the entire
CEE and Central Asian Republics.
In
addition to the Premier League, AMI also holds exclusive rights
to the FA Cup and England's internationals and NHL across
all these territories. AMI also handles Formula One, NBA and
a number of other top properties in Eastern Europe
