DELHI: The Government is considering the report of a high-level
committee of the Department of Telecom which looked into representations
by various organisations including community radio forums
protesting the hike in spectrum charges with effect from 1
April 2012.
Minister
of State for Communications & Information Technology Milind
Deora informed the Lok Sabha today that the revision of spectrum
charges was for all captive users, including community radio
stations.
On
this some representations have been received from various
organisations including community radio forums, requesting
either exemption from paying spectrum fee or for roll back.
The
Committee has submitted its report but no decision has been
taken in this regard.
