MUMBAI: Russian independent film and television producer and distributor, Central Partnership, has chosen next month’s television trade event Mipcom 2012 to premiere its historical action adventure feature ‘1812’. Organised by Reed Midem, Mipcom takes place in Cannes, france from 8-11 October.
1812 revolves around the eve of the battle of Borodino and Russian efforts to recover their battle plans from the hands of French Emperor Napoleon. Directed by Oleg Fesenko, 1812 will be unveiled to MIPCOM delegates on Monday 8 October at 12pm, during the Opening International Film Premiere. The Russian theatrical release is scheduled for November 1.
The cast includes French actor Eric Fraticelli in the role of Napoleon, US-based Russian actress Svetlana Metkina playing the Emperor’s love interest, Countess Valevskaya and Poland’s Pawel Delag.
Reed Midem’s television division director Laurine Garaude said, “Feature films have always been an essential part of any television channel’s schedule and an increasing number of film production companies are using Mipcom to raise financing and secure distribution deals. We’re delighted that Central Partnership has chosen Mipcom to launch this major production, coinciding with the 200th anniversary of the famous battle.”
