BANGALORE: The Zee Network’s Kannada offering Zee-Kannada (Zee-K) will start airing a 30-minute comedy reality show ‘Yamaloka Prayachitta’ based on Hindu mythology concept of atonement for sins, twice a week.

Yamalokadalli Prayaschitta will be on every Thursday and Friday at 9 pm.

The show is based on the concept that people who trouble the normal course of life will be punished in Naraka (Hell) after death with the strong belief that Chitragupta (An assistant to the God of Death) is there to keep accounts of sin with Yamadharma (God of Death) to mete punishment.

The participants include celebrities, politicians and the common people. Television celebrities will include actors in a negative role in the approximately 55 soaps that are aired on Kannada television. Keeping the viewers sentiments in mind, the villainous characters from these soaps will be punished by Sandalwood comedian Mandya Ramesh who will play the role of Chitragupta. Theater artist Girish will don Yamadharma’s role.

Each episode will have three participants with three to four activities (punishments) which will end up with lots of fun and humour. Television artistes such as Asharani, Veena Sunder, Bhavani, Swapna Raj, Sneha, Seetha Kote etc., have already participated in some of the episodes that have been canned without any restriction from the channel/s and the show/s they have acted or are acting in, Zee Kannada claims.

The dialogue between Yama and Chitragupta and the comments by Chitragupta on sinners and his lead to the activities will be the highlights of the show.
