DELHI: The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information
Technology today invited public views on the Cable Television
Networks (Regulation) Second Amendment Bill 2011 which seeks
to prohibit transmission or re-transmission of unregistered
channels and to enhance the punishment provided for contravention
of the provisions of the principal Act.
The
Bill had been referred to the Standing Committee headed by
Rao Inderjit Singh, MP, after its introduction in the Lok
Sabha on 15 December 2011.
