DELHI: Ashish Khetan and Shalabh Mani Tripathi are the recipients
from the print and electronic media respectively of the third
awards of the non-governmental Institute for Research and
Documentation in Social Sciences.
The Lucknow-based IRDS has given awards this year in various
fields besides media.
Tripathi
is the Lucknow-based correspondent of IBN-7 who had to suffer
police atrocities due to his reporting on Dr Sachan's death.
Ashish Khetan is an investigative journalist from Tehelka,
known for his work on Godhra and 2G Scam. Shalabh Mani.
These
awards named after Alok Tomar, Surendra Pratap Singh, Safdar
Hashmi, V N Shukla, Anandi Bai Joshi, Manjunath Shanmugam and
Satyendra Dubey are given to people up to 45 years of age. The
jury for the award was headed by socially active IPS officer
Amitabh Thakur. |
