US broadcaster Own: Oprah Winfrey Network has announced new
series and returning shows.
'Life
with La Toya' is a look inside the life of the outspoken Michael
Jackson sibling, 'The Customer is Always Right' is an experiment
with customers as the boss. 'Neighborvention' sees communities
unite to help neighbors in crisis.
Own
president Erik Logan said, "We've laid the ground work
at OWN with Oprah's popular series and now it's time to build
on that success with these brand new shows."
Own
president Sheri Salata said, "Our viewers want to be
entertained, to laugh and to have an 'aha' moment. We are
confident our new programming is delivering on that promise,
infusing the core values of the Oprah brand into everything
we put on the air."
Own's
fall lineup includes new episodes of Oprah Winfrey's series
'Oprah's Next Chapter', two 'Oprah's Lifeclass' special episodes
in September and the return of the network's family docu-series
'Welcome to Sweetie Pie's'. In addition, new series will debut
including "Iyanla, Fix My Life," "TV Guide
Magazine's Top 25 Best Oprah Show Moments" and "Oprah:
Where Are They Now?"
'Oprah's
Next Chapter' will feature in-depth interviews with comedian
Stephen Colbert from his hometown in Charleston, South Carolina,
the legendary and larger-than-life Bette Midler at her home
in New York City, singer/actress Jennifer Hudson in an intimate
conversation about her life today, and actorKelsey Grammer
and his wife Kayte as they discuss their new marriage and
parenthood.
Counting
down the most famous and memorable moments from the 25-year
history of the 'Oprah' show, "TV Guide Magazine's Top
25 Oprah Show Moments kicks off on 28 August.
Own
and Oprah are engaging audiences on-air and online with 'Oprah's
Lifeclass', a multi-platform experience which features Oprah
taking the stage as teacher sharing advice and engaging in
inspiring conversations with millions of fans from over 200
countries worldwide.
The
Own series 'Welcome to Sweetie Pie's' returns on 15 September.
Immediately following the show is another series from the
Iyanla Vanzant who draws from her personal experiences and
struggles to help others in 'Iyanla, Fix My Life'.
Featuring
some of the biggest newsmakers from the history of the 'Oprah'
show, 'Oprah: Where Are They Now?' kicks off in October. The
series will include never-seen-before footage of Rodney King's
last interview and Mary JoButtafuoco twenty years after being
shot by "the Long Island Lolita," Amy Fisher.
