MUMBAI: Indian audiences are loving to watch more and more cricket. The two Test matches between India and South Africa, telecast on Neo Cricket, fetched an average TVR of 1.19, according to Tam data.

The second Test against South Africa, which India won to stay as the No. 1 Test team for the year, obviously evinced more interest as it earned a TVR of 1.5.

Late last year, the two Test matches against Sri Lanka had garnered a rating of 1.22 TVR.

As far as the ODI format is concerned, the three matches between India and South Africa got an average TVR of 5. This is a slight dip from the 5.5 TVR that the series between India and Australia got. This, though, is not unexpected as India versus Australia is second in terms of ratings after India versus Pakistan.

A media buyer notes that India cricket continues to attract viewers despite more matches being played. What has helped preserve the ratings is the vast improvement in the quality of contests.
