| MUMBAI:
Even as verdict awaits, it seems as though the second set from the Yash Raj variety
too has failed to excite viewers to propel Sony's overall GRP grades.
According to Tam
(HSM, C&S 4+), Rishta.com and Powder, the newest additions to
Sony's YRF slot, have scored dismally to fetch TVRs of 0.6 and 0.4 respectively
for the week ended 9 January. While
Rishta.com, the one-hour fiction with a matrimonial connect, is aired on
Sundays at 8 pm, action thriller Powder is telecast from 9-10 pm, also
on Sundays. Meanwhile,
the performance of the other three shows in their second week of launch has not
managed to witness any upswing. The top celebrity driven and Karan Johar-hosted
reality show, Lift Kara De, has only moved downward with an average TVR
of 1 during the week. Seven, meanwhile, pocketed an average TVR of 1.1
while Mahi Way garnered nothing more than a mere 0.8 TVR. However,
what has contributed a significant portion to the channel GRPs seems to be its
movie lineup. The channel screened Chak De India at 4 pm on 3 January (Sunday)
to garner a TVR of 1.2, quite in contrast to the numbers that Colors locked from
Oye Lucky Lucky Oye( 0.66 TVR) that it aired during the same time slot.
Nevertheless,
it is pertinent to note here that the overall general entertainment genre went
through a slump, de-growing during the week which batted high on cricket.
Thus, while Sony shed 29 points to stand at 151 GRPs, flock leader Colors too
saw a GRP slip to end the week at 289 points (336 last week). Star Plus and Zee
too tumbled to 275 (298 last week) and 268 (284 last week) points respectively.
