MUMBAI:
The second edition of the Champions Twenty20 League will take
place from 10-26 September 2010. IPL chairman and commissioner
Lalit Modi made this announcement on his Twitter page.
The
venue has not been announced and it remains to be seen if
it stays in India or goes elsewhere to England or South Africa.
Modi also reiterated that rumours about Hero Honda buying
Kings XI Punjab are false. He also scorched rumours that Anil
Ambani is interested in Kings XI Punjab.
With
a financial interest in the group, the new role will offer
to him entrepreneurial opportunities as well as enable him
to build valuable businesses across the content chain.
The
opening ceremony tickets for IPL 3.0 will go online in a few
days. IPL teams have to submit full squad for this season
by 5 pm on 12 February. Modi also confirms that the auction
for the fourth season of the IPL will take place just after
the Champions League this year. After the third season, all
the players contracts are up for grabs.
