| MUMBAI:
After a long gap, Zee TV has crossed the 300 GRP (gross rating points) mark for
the week ended 30 January on the strength of a big movie, a dance reality and
a non fiction show. Scoring
high on All The Best (film), Pavitra Rishta and Dance India Dance,
Zee TV has toppled Star Plus to cherish second spot glory again.
As per Tam
data for week ended 30 January, Zee TV has added 45 GRPs to its previous weeks
tally to attain 309 GRPs, diminishing its gap with genre leader Colors (320 GRPs).
During
the week, Zee TV premiered All The Best, which fetched a TVR of 4.2 over
a three-hour period, thereby boosting the channel ratings. Also, fiction Pavitra
Rishta became the highest rated show in the week, clocking a TVR of 6.7, and
dislodging Colors' Laado. Zee TV also aired a one-hour special of Pavitra Rishta
on Saturday, which notched a peak TVR of 6.1. Meanwhile,
its popular dance reality show Dance India Dance clocked a peak TVR of
5.7, making it the highest rated non-fiction property for the week.
Zee
Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) COO and Zee TV business head Nitin Vaidya
said, This week has been exceedingly well for us as our fiction as well
as non-fiction shows have worked very well. We are on track for becoming the number
one channel while staying profitable.
Colors, on the other hand, has shed 45 GRPs over the previous week. Quite
unlike its high performance during the opening week, Colors' weekly game show
National Bingo Nights, hosted by Abhishek Bachchan, was eclipsed by Salman
Khan-starrer Wanted on Star Gold and the one-hour special of Pavitra
Rishta on Zee TV. Bingo posted a TVR of 2 in its second week, dropping from
a rating of 5.1 in the debut week.
According to channel sources, the show will get a boost with Shah Rukh Khan coming
onto the show next week. Meanwhile,
Star Plus has lost 45 GRPs and ended the week with 247 points. Last week, the
ratings of the channel had shored up because of the TV premiere of Wanted.
Sony Entertainment
Television (Set) added 15 GRPs in its kitty even as its top-rated show CID
marched into the top 10 with a TVR of 4.4. "We
had organised a 15-day celebration for the show (CID) that had completed its 12-year
run. This included the CID Gallantry awards," explains Set
business head Ajit Thakur. |
