| MUMBAI:
UTV Bindass, the youth entertainment channel from the UTV Global Broadcasting
stable, is launching a new dating reality show, Date Trap starting 19 December. The
show will air every Sunday at 7 pm and will be anchored by Gaurav Kapoor. In Date
Trap, every week two contestants will willingly contend to set up their friend
on their date from hell, for a cash prize.
UTV
Bindass business head Nikhil Gandhi said, "Our constant initiatives and research
with the youth offers us the chance to create yet another pioneering concept that
is Date Trap." The objective will be to see which one of the two
participants can pull off a more creative prank on their best friend by setting
them up their most nightmarish date. The contestants will set up their friends
to go out on a date with an actor. Already briefed about the friend's likes and
dislikes, the actor will gradually ensure that the date leads to the worst date
one could imagine. Towards
the end of the show, Kapoor and the contestant's will choose the better date-breaker
based on the originality of the idea, smoothness in execution and, of course,
the impact it has on the victim. Elaborating
on his entry on Date Trap, Kapoor commented, "Date Trap is one of those rare
light-hearted reality reliefs's, which sets the mood right for the viewers to
tickle their funny bone. Taking off on the format which sets the wheel in motion,
the show is a trap on your close friends as they make an attempt to date, which
will not just have the participant's but the viewers in splits! I totally look
forward to being part of this madhouse." The
show is co-produced by UTV Content and Vishal Mull with inputs from creative director
and director Nishant and Vishal. The programme is conceptualised by the UTV Bindass
team, head of programming Shalini Sethi, creative director Huzefa Roowala and
executive producer Richa Arora. |
