MUMBAI: Reliance Big TV has entered into an alliance with television manufacture Samsung India Electronics to tap the urban upwardly class for its HD offering.

As a part of the alliance, Big TV is offering its high definition (HD) cum advanced digital video recorder (HD DVR) service for free on purchase of Samsung LED TV range.

Along with the free set top box (STB), customers can also avail two months of free silver pack subscription along with one HD channel without any installation or activation fee. The offer is available across India till 15 September.

Big TV SVP Umesh Rao said, “Our partnership with Samsung will take the television viewing experience to its next level. With HD transmission and digital video recording capability from Big TV set top box, Samsung LED TV customers are set for a veritable treat in their living rooms.”

Earlier last week, Big TV had slashed the price of the HD DVR offering to Rs 4990 compared to its launch price of Rs 7,490 in May.
