Adhikari Brothers assert distribution deal with Turner intact

(Posted on 29 September 2001 6:45 pm)

Sri Adhikari Brothers Television Network (SABTNL) on Friday denied reports that Turner International India, which distributes its Hindi entertainment channel SABe TV in the country, has broken off the alliance.

A statement issued by the company said: "There is no termination notice served by Turner to SABe TV."

The statement further said: "SABe TV and Turner International have agreed to issue a joint press release in a day or two."

Business daily Financial Express had reported yesterday that Turner had served a termination notice "as it has not received payment from SABe TV for the last six months."

When contacted, Turner's spokesperson said he had no comments to offer on the issue.

SABe was the first local channel in the Turner distribution bouquet which includes CNN, HBO and Cartoon Network.
