MUMBAI: Nimbus Television has launched two daily serials on Telugu channel Gemini TV, in the 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm slots. One of these serials, claims Nimbus, is the first ever Southern serial to be shot abroad.

The serial --Maa Inti Maalaxmi -- shot in Singapore is aired at 7:00 pm. It is directed by Ashok Rao and stars popular Andhra film actors like Suresh, J V Somayajulu and Raajeshwari.

Senior vice president (Television) of Nimbus Sunil Manocha says, "We realized the viewers' need for something different in the channel. To this end, we have been successful, as is evident from the first week's ratings which have shot up by 20 per cent compared to the previous programme in the same slot."

Vundamma Bothu Pedetha, the 9:00 pm daily, directed by Anil Kumar, is a family thriller. Nimbus will also commence shooting for two new dailies in Kannada and Tamil shortly.

The Nimbus content library currently comprises software just over 5500 hours.
