Japan broadcasters, tech firms to team up for TV anti-piracy software

TOKYO (AFX) - Japan Broadcasting Corp, Fuji Television Network Inc and other broadcasters are teaming up with electronics firms to install anti-piracy software in televisions to protect content distributed through terrestrial digital broadcasting, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported over the weekend.

Matsushita Electric Industrial Co (nyse: MC - news - people ) and other TV makers plan to roll out new products incorporating the software as soon as the autumn of 2008, it said.
