The
commissioning editor of SABC3 has lashed out at a religious organisation
for taking credit for securing a Tamil movie in the channel's new line-up
of Bollywood films.
The head of the South African Tamil Federation, Mickey Chetty, said a high-level meeting between his organisation and SABC boss Peter Matlare was held on Monday at which the issue of Tamil movies was discussed at length. Chetty said the meeting followed several requests by the community to include Tamil movies on SABC3. He said Matlare assured the federation that immediate arrangements would be made for the inclusion of at least one Tamil film in the Bollywood season. "Mr Matlare assured the Tamil federation that he would immediately make arrangements for the relevant SABC staff to begin negotiations for the inclusion of at least one Tamil film in the Bollywood series on SABC3." |
