Bangladesh: Cable operators observe 3-hr strike tomorrow

Cable operators will observe a three-hour token strike tomorrow shutting down transmission from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm in protest against the snapping of cable connections in the capital's Gulshan area by Dhaka Electric Supply Company (Desco). Officials of Desco snapped the connections yesterday evening allegedly without any prior notice ignoring what was agreed with the Cable Operators Association Bangladesh (Coab), sources said.

SM Anwar Parvez, president of Coab, said they have decided to observe the strike as Desco snapped cable connections of several thousand subscribers without any notice.
