Tata Sky to show Slumdog Millioanaire on its PPV service – Showcase

NEW DELHI: Slumdog Millionaire, the Oscar-nominated film by Danny Boyle released last month, will soon be made available by the direct-to-home (DTH) service provider Tata Sky on its pay-per-view (PPV) service – Showcase at Rs. 25.

According to the Chief Marketing Officer Vikram Mehra of Tata Sky which is the joint venture between Tata Group and Star, “Tata Sky has always persevered in garnering maximum customer satisfaction and therefore making accessible the best cinema to our viewers. Today, broadcasters understand the importance of movies on DTH as it enriches the pay-per-view (PPV) experience and becomes an appointment viewing for the customer. On PPV, new movie releases enables both parties to monetize as well as kill piracy."


The film, which vies for several categories in the Oscars on 23 February including the music by A R Rahman, will be telecast on 20 February and would be available till 22 February 2009 in English and the Hindi version Slumdog Crorepati.
