CANNES: Very much in keeping with international standards, the first-ever promotion of an Indian animation feature - ‘Ghatothkach – Master of Magic’ - at the ongoing Cannes International Film Festival – has come complete with an exclusive Ghatothkach Kit.

Shemaroo Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. at its stall in the Market of the Festival are showcasing various products but primarily focusing on Ghatothkach, with large posters, cut-outs and audio-visual promotions of Ghatothkach.

The Ghatothkach kit is inclusive of an aesthetic folder with a Note Book, Mouse Pad, Show Reel, Calendar and Flier. These kits have been created for potential buyers, distributors and business associates in order to position this animated film as an International Caliber Product, and not just another Indian Film.

In the India Pavilion at Cannes, Shemaroo has put up a huge Wall-size Display of Ghatothkach and also promoted this animated film through advertising in leading International Magazines like the Hollywood Reporter and Variety.

Shemaroo Vice President Hiren Gada said, “We are looking forward to tapping the potential new audiences in the International Market and promote ‘Ghatothkach – Master of Magic’ through innovative positioning. We are already seeing a lot of interest in Ghatothkach. We are hoping to be able to create a wider global market for Indian animation.”

Smita Maroo, Vice-President of the Animation Division at Shemaroo revealed that Shemaroo is working on various International tie-ups for Ghatothkach and looking forward to an International release. The film has been made with universal appeal for global viewers and will have an International English dub track.

Shemaroo Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. has now gone from home entertainment to Film Production, Post Production, Distribution and Animation. In the field for over four decades, Shemaroo joined hands with Sony Entertainment Television through a joint venture partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment, USA.

Shemaroo has also made a direct foray into film-making with its Films Division and its library includes the critically acclaimed award-winning ‘Omkara’ – co-produced by Shemaroo Entertainment. Shemaroo is already distributing Bollywood Films through the home entertainment market in the US, U.K., Singapore, Fiji, UAE and Australia.
