MMUMBAI: : Cinematographer Nalla is the first Indian Director of Photography (DoP) to have made to the prestigious Cannes Film Festival for the bollywood film Dharam.

Starring Pankaj Kapur and Supriya Pathak, India's first full length Bollywood film shot on High Definition (HD) will be premiered as the closing film of the "Cinema's of the world" section at the 60th Cannes film festival in May.

Nalla is the only DoP in India who has worked extensively on HD for international broadcast film, Dharam being his 5th HD project.

This is a big achievement and boost for bollywood technicians and allied technological services. The biggest drawback for HD in India is that our broadcast is still on the lower resolution standard formats unlike many other countries.s

Nalla's work has been televised across the globe on broadcast channels like BBC World, Channel 4 UK, CNN, Discovery International, Discovery Health, Fox Channel, NDR Germany, National Geographic, Star World, Star Plus, Star World, South Africa Television and Travel Channel Europe. He has also shot over 40 stories from India and South East Asia for Focus Asia, Star World.

Under his banner, Grey Films India Private Limited, Nalla has produced and shot documentaries and programmes for many national, regional and international channels.
