Loaded with special effects ' The Day After Tomorrow ',
Fox Movies' latest release has opened to full houses all
over India. Speaking to Animation 'xpress 20th Century Fox
India's Sales and Marketing manager Paresh Manjrekar said
"As far as Hollywood movies released in India are concerned
'TDAT' has recieved the biggest opening of the year. It
also is the all time 2nd biggest opening for Hollywood movies
in India after the James Bond flick Die Another Day."
Not to be left behind is the wireless content of this SFX
thriller. Earlier in the year Indiagames had entered into
an agreement with FOX Licensing & Merchandising's Wireless
Entertainment Group which gave Indiagames the license to
publish games and other wireless content like wallpapers
and ringtones for a host of FOX titles.
Indiagames CEO Vishal Gondal when contacted pointed out,"Amongst
many firsts is the simaltaneous global release of the movie
'The Day After Tomorrow' along with gaming and other wireless
content developed around it. The response is very encouraging".
In India the company has tied up with Airtel as the carrier
for its 'TDAT' content . Internationally it has tied up
with Optus in Australia, Orange in Europe and AT&T in
the United States.
Confirming the bumper response for the wireless content,
a spokesperson for Bharti Televentures Viraj Chouhan commented,
"The game was released in phases across the circles.
The earliest was the 18th of May where it was test launched,
but the game was finally available nationwide on 28th May,
the day of the release. We have had approximately 30,000
downloads already."
