There ought to be a rule making it cumpulsory for all nominees to attend award functions!

Held on 27 October at Mumbai's YB Chavan auditorium and organised by the same people that manage Broadcast India , The 4th Seagate Technical Awards for excellence in digital technology in films and television grew bigger this year, recieving 180 entries across 14 categories which included visual effects, animation, editing and digital film making. It was however sad to see quite a few winners not going up to receive their trophies.

While Star India, Graphiti Multimedia, 2nz animation were the big winners in animation, pocketing 2 awards each, VCL, United Entertainment and Rajtaru figured prominently in the FX categories.

United entertainment got in the FX award for Lakshya, and MEL bagged the honors for the best 3D in films for its work in 'Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai'.

Channel V Very animated

Thanks to its generous usage of top quality and creative animation in its channel IDs and fillers, Channel V was one of the most frequently occuring names on the nominee lists. In the category of Best 2d for commercials and promos, 5 of the 6 nominations went to Channel V.

Strong on 3D, Graphiti Multimedia bagged both of it's awards in the 3D category, including Best 3D for TV for Cartoon Network's 'The Next Big Toon' and the other for Best 3D in Commercials for its Barbie Kotex commercial.

2nz animation topscored in 2D, registering both of its wins in the 2D categories, including Best 2D for films for the Chal Hutt song in Shaadi Ka Laddoo and Best 2D for TV for The Adventures of Chota Birbal.
