Song of the Year
It's tough competition this year on the music front. Sajid-Wajid clash with A R Rahman, Anu Malik faces stiff threat from Ram Sampat as their compositions vie for the honours. Which song will bag the award?

Aaja Soniye - This Alka Yagnik - Sonu Nigam duet, picturised on the peppy trio of Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra and Salman Khan in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, has been imbued with an energetic beat and energy by the singers. This T series track caught the fancy of the desis and NRIs alike with its universal appeal.

Aisa Jadoo Daala Re - Sunidhi Chauhan's earthy energetic voice gives this Khakee song a special appeal. Ram Sampat's music brings in that little extra that sets this T-series song a cut above the rest in its genre.

Bheege Honth Tere - Possibly one of the most frequently played songs on radio for a very long while, this soulful Murder track has Kunal Ganjawala at his best. A Sa Re Ga Ma product, 'Bheege Honth...' was able to colour the passion between Mallika Sherawat and Imran Hashmi with the right notes.

Dhoom Macha Le - This track created as much Dhoom as the best this year with Pritam's peppy music that caught the fancy of the younger generation. Sunidhi Chauhan's voice, once again, that gave the song its energy and speed, both characteristics that mark the movie.

Tumse Milke - This Anu Malik-Ranjit Barot composition fused qawwali with modern, and Aftab Sabri, Hasim Sabri, Sonu Nigam's voices gave it the energy it needed. From among all other popular Main Hoon Na tracks, this one stands out for its melodious music and soulful rendering.

Yunhi Chala Chal - This song carries the essence of Ashutosh Gowariker's Swades within itself. A R Rahman's composition has been perfectly rendered by Udit Narayan, Hariharan, Kailash Kher, earthy voices that speak the language of the countryside.
