PGA nominates ‘Slumdog’ for best picture category

MUMBAI: Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire has pocketed yet another nomination. The film, a tale of a Mumbai slum dweller’s journey from rags to riches, has been nominated in the best picture category by the Producers Guild of America (PGA).

The category will also witness films like Brad Pitt starrer 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,' Batman film 'Dark Knight," 'Frost/Nixon,' and political drama 'Milk' contending for the award.

PGA will announce the winner on 24 January.

Slumdog has been riding quite high after winning four Golden Globe nominations. The film won the Best Cinematography award from the National Society of Film Critics. It also bagged nominations for Best Film and Best Director from the Vancouver Film Critics Circle.
