MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan’s next release is now ready to befriend Bollywood’s controversy league.

The Khan’s latest venture, which until now was being promoted as Billu Barber, has undergone some name chopping to be re-christened as only Billu. The film will be released on 13 February.

Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Billu Barber received strong opposition from the members of the Salon and Beauty Parlors Association who found the film's title derogatory. The association was quite adamant on dropping the word Barber from the title as the word not only signified an occupation but also a caste.

After much discussion between the two parties, SRK has finally decided to axe that extra word from the title in an attempt to not run into any further problems.

It’s essential to note that as part of its marketing strategy, film had recently tied up various hair saloons across Mumbai wherein the shops received Billu’s vinyl, cassettes and CDs to be displayed and played at the stores.
