MUMBAI: Excel Home Videos and NDTV Lumiere have released Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita and 8 1\2 on DVD.

La Dol Ce Vita is a 1960 film that was nominated for four Academy Awards and also earned the Palme d’Or (Golden Palm) at the 1960 Cannes Film Festival. The film’s story revolves around fluff-peddling tabloid journalist Marcello Rubini who is caught up in the social whirl of the crème de la crème while slipping deeper into self-loathing.

8 1\2 is the autobiographical epic of a man’s artistic crisis that won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 1964 and the Grand Prix at the 1963 Moscow International Film Festival. The film’s plot concerns a 43-year-old film director whose film and life collapses around him.

The DVDs also include added features - about the movie, the director, filmography, awards, screenings and poster.
