MUMBAI:
UTV Motion Pictures has joined hands with
Prakash Jha Productions to co-produce Jha's
next directorial venture Rajneeti.
Manmohan
Shetty's Walkwater Media will also be a
co-producing partner and the film is slated
for release in the first half of 2010.
UTV
is also distributing the film which is based
on the backdrop of Bhopal politics.
"Apart
from co-producing, the film will also be
distributed by UTV," says UTV Motion
Pictures CEO Siddharth Roy.
Written
by Prakash Jha, the casting of the film
includes Nana Patekar, Ajay Devgan, Ranbir
Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai, Katrina
Kaif and Naseeruddin Shah.
Says
UTV group CEO Ronnie Screwvala, "Prakash
Jha has always believed in the concept of
'cinema with power' and we look forward
to a great story with Rajneeti too. I am
sure this association will be fruitful to
both the parties."
The
film has completed its first schedule and
is gearing up for the second.
