Delhi 6 pockets Rs 275 million over three-day weekend

MUMBAI: Delhi 6, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s latest directorial venture, has raked in Rs 275 million at the domestic box office over the three-day weekend.

Produced by UTV Motion Pictures, the film was released on 20 February across 945 screens in India.

As part of its international collections, the film, which witnessed a simultaneous release overseas, has pocketed $600,000 from North America and $380,000 from the Gulf market.

The film opened across 90 screens in North America and 30 screens in the Gulf.

In the UK, Delhi 6 has grossed $160,000 in its first 3 days while the rest of the world accounted for about $100,000 in 3 days.

The film stars Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Om Puri, Waheeda Rahman, Rishi Kapoor, Atul Kulkarni, and Divya Dutta and is reportedly based on Mehra's growing up years in the Chandni Chowk area of Old Delhi. Delhi 6 is Mehra's third movie after Aks and Rang De Basanti.
