| MUMBAI:
PVR Pictures is set to release the Julianne Moore starrer Blindness on
9 January in India.
The
dramatic thriller was the opening film at the 61st Cannes Film Festival and the
27th Vancouver International Film Festival in 2008. Blindness was released
in the US on 3 October. While
the film was distributed by Miramax Films in the US, Alliance Films and 20th Century
Fox distributed it in Canada and Brazil respectively. Written
by Don McKellar, Blindness also stars Mark Ruffalo, Gael Garcia Bernal, Danny
Glover and Alice Braga. Niv Fichman Andrea Barata Ribeiro and Sonoko Sakai are
the producers of the film. The
film revolves around the story of an unnamed city where an epidemic causes most
of the people to go blind. The film follows several people as they try to survive
in a makeshift prison set up by the government as a quarantine area.
Meanwhile,
PVR Pictures will also be distributing What Just Happened in India, starring Bruce
Willis and Robert De Niro. It was the closing film at the 61st Cannes Film Festival
2008. |
