Edinburgh International Film Festival ’09 to be held from 30 Jan

MUMBAI: The 2009 Scottish Edinburgh's International Film Festival will be held from 30 January to 8 February in the Scottish capital of Edinburgh.

The festival, sponsored by Iranian communities of Edinburgh University, will showcase 13 Iranian films in its Middle East section. The films included in this section are

  • So Simple by Reza Mir Karimi
  • Bashu, the Little Stranger by Bahram Beizaei
  • Narges by Rakhshan Bani Etemad
  • The Scent of Joseph's Shirt by Ebrahim Hatamikia
  • Two Women by Tahmineh Milani
  • Tehran Has No More Pomegranate by Masoud Bakhshi
  • Fireworks Wednesday by Asghar Farhadi
  • Lonely Tune of Tehran by Saman Salur
  • It's Winter by Rafi Pitts
  • The Runner by Amir Naderi

The Middle East section will also include films from Scotland, France, Lebanon and Turkey. The Edinburgh Festival, recognised as world's largest arts festival, was initiated in 1947.
