| MUMBAI:
The 13th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), which concluded on 19 December,
gave away the Golden Crow Pheasant Award for the best feature film to Parque
Via (Spanish), directed by Mexican film-maker Enrique Rivero.
The Silver
Pheasant Award for best director went to Mariana Rondon from Venezuela for Postcards
from Leningrad. The film also swept away the International Federation of Film
Critics (FIPRESCI) Award. Huseyin
Karabey took away the Silver Crow Pheasant Award for the best debutant director
for his Turkish film My Marlon and Brando, which also won the Network for
the Promotion of Asian Film Centre (NETPAC) Award for the best Asian film. While
Uberto Pasolinis Sri Lankan film Machan won the Audience Award, Algerian
film-maker Amor Hakkers The Yellow House bagged the special jury
award. Also,
the FIPRESCI Award for the best Malayalam film went to Anjali Menons Manjadi
Kuru. Menon also won the Hassankutty award introduced this year for the best
debutant Indian director. The NETPAC Award for the best Malayalam film went to
MG Sasis Adayalangal. |
