MUMBAI: The script of Yash Raj Films’ latest release Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has been requested by the Oscar library for its permanent collection.

The scripts in the collection reside at the Margaret Herrick Library and are made accessible for research purposes only; students, filmmakers, writers and actors are among the regular patrons. While screenplays may only be viewed in the library, they do not circulate. Also, no screenplay is allowed to be photocopied.

According to YRF, the sensitivity of the screenplay and the “unusual” love story attracted the attention of the staff at the library right away.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is a romantic comedy starring Shahrukh Khan and newcomer Anushka Sharma in pivotal roles. Directed by Aditya Chopra, the film was released on 12 December.

The film has claimed to garner approximately Rs 600 million worldwide in its opening weekend.
