MUMBAI: Warner Bros has inked a deal with production company World Films to release The Butcher in northwest Europe this spring.

“The Butcher has brought tremendous exposure to World Films’ productions establishing it as a rising star in this industry. Thus, we have already signed distribution deals with studios including Warner Bros, 20th Century Fox, Lions Gate Films, NBC/Universal and Metrodome allowing us to release The Butcher all throughout Europe and Australia,” said World Films executive producer CEO Anthony V. Pugliese III.

The Butcher, written and directed by Jesse Johnson, tells the story of ex-prize fighter turned mob enforcer, Merle Hench. The film is led by Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated Eric Roberts.

In addition to the Warner Bros release of The Butcher in northwest Europe, the film is also being distributed globally by 20th Century Fox in Australia in March 2009 and Metrodome across the United Kingdom in spring 2009.
