MUMBAI: Toei Animations property La
Grenadière will be screened during
the closing ceremony of this years Kinotayo,
the third annual contemporary Japanese film
festival taking place in France.
Commencing
on 18 November, the eight-day film festival
will see the screening of La Grenadière
on 25 November.
La
Grenadière was adapted from the novel
by the renowned French writer Honoré
de Balzac.
La
Grenadière reflects Ga-nime, a new
genre of animation that Toei launched in 2006
to celebrate the companys 50th anniversary.
The concept of Ga-nime originated from the idea
of allowing artists to express their original
creative worlds fully and freely through the
art charm that Ga (image/picture)
has naturally.
La
Grenadière tells the story of a mother
and child in the 19th century, coated in a music
that punctuates the whole experience.
We
are honoured to screen La Grenadière
in the closing ceremony of this film festival.
We hope that French audience would appreciate
the universe of La Grenadière
adapted and expressed by Japanese, said
Toei Animation director of the international
department Kanji Kazahaya.
