BANGALORE:
The first phase of Bangalores Innovative
Film City (IFC) was officially inaugurated yesterday
by Kannada Film Industry doyen Rajkumars
wife Parvathiamma, Kannada film actor Vishnu
Vardhan and Ripleys Entertainment (REI)
president Robert (Bob) Masterson. IFC is now
undergoing trial runs and will be thrown open
to the public in April 2008. IFC will be offered
for film shoots in June 2008.
Among
others, the trio also inaugurated the other
attractions that form a part of IFC Dinosaur
World, Aqua Kingdom Louis Tussuads Wax
Works, Ripleys Believe it or Not, and
Funplex, which has a 4-D cinema theater.
Parvathiamma
also unveiled a wax statue of her late husband
at Louis Tussuads Wax Works. Among the
major wax exhibits are those of former US president
Bill Clinton, Mahatma Gandhi, Adolf Hitler,
Mother Teresa, Charlie Chaplin, Pierce Brosnan,
Tom Hanks, Mona Lisa posing for Leonardo da
Vinci for the priceless Mona Lisa
and Frankenstein, among others
An
Audi two-door TT-Coupe was also showcased at
the Main Street. As reported earlier, Audi has
also signed on. Audi will display its products,
latest models and launch all its new models
for India at IFC. Another major brand that IFC
has tied up with is Coco Cola, which has a bottling
plant a short distance from IFC. Only Coke soft
drink beverages will be sold at IFC.
The
Innovative Group, a pioneer in multiplex business
in Karnataka, unveiled the first phase of Indias
first multi-million rupee fully integrated entertainment
complex IFC yesterday. The complex is
spread over 54 acres of land. The first phase
has cost Innovative a shade less than Rs 1 billion.
The overall project would entail investments
of about Rs 5 billion.
