MUMBAI: Yet another film festival was announced at a press conference held in the city on Tuesday. Making the announcement was Vijayta Gandhi of Vijayta Entertainment who will host the festival.

The Platinum film Festival to be held in Cape Town in January 2008 will showcase films from all categories like mainstream cinema, documentaries, international films. There will be a Platinum Awards Night as well. The categories include "Popular Genre Awards" conducted via Telecom Polling, Internet Polling and Print Polling. The Platinum Film Festival, an attempt at creating a Film Festival for the masses, will also serve as a platform to the different genres of films in World Cinema.

Those who attended the event were actors Rituparna Sengupta, Tulip Joshi, Aushima Saawhney, Kunal Khemmu, Rahul Roy and Atul Kulkarni.
