MUMBAI:
Reliance Entertainment will release Makkhi, the Hindi version of
director S.S. Rajamouli's Telugu film Eega, nationwide on 12 October.
The film has been produced by Sai Korrapati and D. Suresh Babu.
Starring
Sudeep (Sudeep), Samantha Prabhu (Bindu) and Nani (Jani) in lead
roles, Makkhi is a live action animation film about the revenge
of a super fly. Initially, it was the Telugu version Eega that released
on 6 July. It was followed by the Tamil version (Naane) and as (Eecha)
in Malayalam.
Having
reached the audience in 1103 screens in India in all the three
versions, the film's Hindi release will further augment its reach.
The total collections of the three versions have already done
a gross business of over Rs.130 crore worldwide.
The
Hindi audience is already familiar with Rajamouli's body of work
that includes Rowdy Rathore, the Hindi remake of the Telugu film
Vikramarkudu (2006) and his 2010 release Maryada Ramanna (2010)
that is being made as Son Of Sardar in Hindi by Rohit Shetty.
