MUMBAI: The release of Balaji Motion Pictures and Phantom Films'
Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Lootera, which was earlier
supposed to hit the screens on Valentine Day on 14 February 2013, has
been pushed to 29 March.
It is said that the producers wanted to release the film on 14
February and accordingly wanted to start the film's promotions a month
earlier. But their plans got derailed because of the lead actor's date
issues; he was shooting for a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film.
Confirming the same, co-producer Vikas Bahl said, "Ranveer's dates
were with Sanjay and as he is important for the promotion of the film,
it makes sense for us to release Lootera in March."
It is also learnt that the other producer Vikramaditya Motwane, who
was once an assistant of Bhansali, chose to let his mentor have his
dates and delay his own film Lootera instead.
This is not the first occasion that the film has been delayed. Earlier
scheduled for a 26 October 2012 release, Lootera was rescheduled to
hit the screens on 14 February in 2013.
